DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS & DEVELOPMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION (22 hours/week)

 

Skills needed:

  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and public speaking
  • Computer proficiency: word processing, internet and email
  • Empathetic listening skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Creativity; innovative ideas
  • Previous grant writing experience preferred
  • Values working with small team

Job responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and recruit facilitators and participants for Family-to-Family and Basics courses during the year
  • Facilitate and plan initiatives as well as speaking at Family-to-Family, Basics, Mental Illness Awareness Week, Education Forums and special programs as requested by Executive Director
  • Staff liaison including administrative support to Facilitators of Support Groups; schedule quarterly meetings
  •  Conduct grant research, write grant proposals; monitor and submit grant reports
  • Administer program evaluation and summarize results
  • Produce annual report
  • Answer Helpline calls by providing information and referrals to callers; assist with answering general phone calls
  • Active participation in all programs, special events and fundraising projects
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
